Jindal Steel & Power
SK Pradhan, chief marketing officer

Jindal Steel & Power supplies steel plates to the OEMs. Speaking of Aatmanirbhar Bharat or China Plus One strategy, it becomes more important to ensure that a supply chain is put in place. The company has developed numerous products for the construction equipment industry. Importantly, the company has achieved nearly 80-90% localisation across its product lines for the construction equipment industry.

It is also commissioning a new 5 million tonne per annum hot strip mill and this will allow the company to supply below 8mm plates to its customers. This will make JSPL a one-stop solution provider for the construction equipment industry.
The company has a 9 mtpa capacity and in six months’ time will rise to 16 mtpa after commissioning of the new blast furnace. It has an ambition to touch 32 mtpa by 2030.
Jindal Steel and Power (JSP) is planning to make its Angul unit India’s largest single-location steel manufacturing facility. The capacity of the Odisha plant is being ramped up to 11.6 million tonnes per annum from the existing 5.6 mtpa.
