Former vice president M Venkaiah Naidu urged the hosts of real estate and infrastructure developers to prioritise creating happy, healthy, and affordable housing while retaining superb architectural elements for the satisfaction and sustainability of the housing sector. He made these remarks during the inauguration of Naredco’s Silver Jubilee 25th Foundation Day conference in Hyderabad today.
While inaugurating the event, Naidu also appealed to real estate and infrastructure developers to ensure the provision of adequate air, sunlight, and water availability in all housing projects. This, he emphasized, would enable residents to live in these housing units without any grievances and spend their time happily.
The former vice president underscored in his address that the real estate and infrastructure sectors are so crucial for the country’s growth that they must be built upon a foundation of happy, affordable, and healthy housing. He stressed that meeting these fundamental housing needs is necessary to expand and develop the real estate and infrastructure sectors to achieve their intended purpose.
Naidu emphasised that customers investing in the real estate sector should be satisfied with their investments, provided they are offered housing equipped with modern facilities and essential healthy elements such as pure air, sunlight, and water.
He further advised the real estate sector to take the necessary time to plan housing projects meticulously, warning against encroachments during the nation’s project-building endeavours. He highlighted that tampering with nature during such projects could lead to disastrous consequences, especially considering the serious threats that the current natural climate poses to humanity in India and worldwide.
Vemula Prashanth Reddy, minister of Roads, Building and Legislative Affairs and Housing for the Government of Telangana, encouraged investors not only to invest in real estate and infrastructure in Hyderabad and throughout the state of Telangana but also in irrigation and agriculture. He assured the government would provide all necessary clearances for such projects within 21 days.
The minister applauded the efforts of the current chief minister of Telangana in improving the infrastructure and real estate sectors but stressed that much more needs to be done to unlock the state’s potential fully.
In his presidential address, Rajan Bandelkar, president of Naredco, warmly welcomed the delegates attending the silver jubilee celebrations. He expressed confidence that the contribution of the real estate and infrastructure sector to the national GDP would significantly increase in the next few years, surpassing the current 7%, owing to its potential.
Bandelkar also expressed hope that government policies, including those of the central government, would proactively support the growth of the real estate and infrastructure sectors. He assured the audience that Naredco would wholeheartedly support the government’s drive for affordable housing and other retail and commercial real estate developments.
The association’s vice chairman, Niranjan Hiranandani, who also addressed the gathering, emphasized the critical role of the real estate and infrastructure sectors in fostering the country’s growth and reducing unemployment. He urged all stakeholders, including government, private, and public sectors, to work together to achieve the target of zero unemployment and foster exponential growth in the real estate and housing sectors. Among the other dignitaries present at the event, expressing their optimism for the exponential growth of the real estate and housing sectors in the coming years, were Naredco’s current president-elect Hari Babu, and its vice president of South Prem Kumar.
