THDCIL signed LoI for investment of Rs 40,000 crore with govt of Rajasthan

For establishment of renewable energy parks/projects of 10,000MW

THDC India (THDCIL) signed the letter of intent (LOI) of 10,000MW in Rajasthan with an estimated investment of Rs 40,000 crores for establishment of renewable energy parks/projects of 10,000MW in the august presence of Chief Minister Rajasthan and Minister for Industry, Revenue and Energy, government of Rajasthan. On behalf of THDCIL J Behera, director (finance) signed the LoI and accepted by Additional Chief Secretary, and Dr Subodh Agarwal, CMD RRECL in Jaipur.

The land bank will be allocated by government of Rajasthan through RRECL. The RE Parks will be implemented through SPV in the term of a JV company with RRECL in the ratio of 74:26.

With the above intent of investment in the energy sector by THDC India, it is expected that around 10,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities will be created during the peak time of construction which will boost the local economy.

The project shall be commissioned between 3rd and 5th year in a phased manner. These mega ventures by THDCIL and RRECL shall usher in the socio-economic development of the project areas and also bring in cheap solar electricity in the region.This shall also contribute towards REcapacity addition target of 500GW by 2030 set out by government of India at COP 26.

Today, THDCIL is one of the premier power generators in the country with installed capacity of 1587 MW with commissioning of Tehri Dam & HPP (1000MW), Koteshwar HEP (400MW) in Uttarakhand, wind power projects of 50MW at Patan & 63MW at Dwarka in Gujarat, 24MW Dhukwan small hydro project, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh and 50 MW solar power project at Kasaragod, Kerala. It is also implementing 2000MW ultra mega solar parks in Uttar Pradesh with UPNEDA.
