Gayatri Projects Limited (GPL), the Hyderabad-based infrastructure company has posted a turnover of Rs291 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2009 compared to Rs207 crore in the corresponding period in the last fiscal, registering an increase of 40.47%.
Net profit for the first quarter stood at Rs11.96 crore as against Rs11.25 crore posted in the same period in the last financial year. Diluted earnings per share increased by 6.2% to Rs11.84 as compared to Rs11.14 in the corresponding period last year.
Commenting on the results, Sandeep Reddy, managing director, Gayatri Projects Ltd said, “The result manifests the company’s concerted focus on construction and infrastructure development. We continue to maintain a positive outlook in view of the government’s thrust on the sector”.
The company has been active across states like Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Orissa. The company’s order book currently exceeds Rs6,000 crore for a project portfolio that includes national and state highways, dams, reservoirs, ash ponds and major canal works.
