Vrindavan TechVillage is Asia’s top Green Bldg
Vrindavan TechVillage (VTV), India’s sole LEED Platinum certified SEZ, has been winner of the Green Buildings Category as part of the awards program at MIPIM Asia. VTV, managed by Bangalore based Assetz Property Services and designed by internationally acclaimed architects HOK International, was chosen over two other shortlisted buildings, both from Singapore. The long-list for this award category had eight entries from Singapore, Malaysia, China and the Philippines aside from VTV.
Speaking on the award, Ben Salmon, Managing Director of Assetz Property Group, commented, “We are proud of the recognition achieved by VTV at MIPIM Asia. It has always been our consistent effort and commitment to ensure that the Park operates to the highest standards, operationally and ecologically, and this award is testimony to this effort. As a new-age real estate services group delivering world class services through the full real estate life cycle, Assetz has consistently followed a unique development approach. We ensure unprecedented emphasis on design of developments to world standards while remaining extremely sensitive to the traditions, restrictions, and requirements of the local environment. This approach reflects at VTV as well – it is in line with the strong focus in India on energy conservation and the increasing need for healthy workspaces for the Indian knowledge worker.”
Spread over 100+ acres with up to 9 million square feet of space, VTV was launched in May 2007 offering high-grade infrastructure in Bangalore and achieved its SEZ status enhancing its value proposition. VTV today counts several blue-chip corporations as occupiers at the Park.
VTV has also set a first for commitment to sustainability and eco-conservation. VTV is a Platinum certified LEED SEZ with two statutory bodies, the Indian Green Building Council [IGBC] and US Green Building Council [USGBC] having accorded this status to the Park in recognition of its inherent and ongoing commitments to promoting environmental sustainability.
Several aspects of VTV’s design, including air-conditioning system design and choice of refrigerants, design of energy and lighting systems, sustainable site operations and water efficiency, have ensured that VTV is designed to international ecological standards and meets guidelines set by the Ministry of Environment and Forest (MOEF).
