Tata Motors bullish on CV sales this fiscal
With market demand showing strong signs of a revival, Tata Motors expects clock a double digit growth in sales in the commercial vehicle (CV) segment this fiscal. The auto major is going ahead with the launch of its one tonne Super Ace truck and also its Ace Ex over the course of the next few months.
The company has also bagged orders for about 5,000 buses from various state and local transport bodies under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). According to a top company official, after months of a slowdown the market had improved especially in the light and medium CV segment over the past few months, with heavy vehicle sales also showing positive trends.
The auto major had registered a total sales of 2,65,012 units of CVs during 2008-09. Its cumulative CV sales during the first six months of the current fiscal was 1,61,700 units, a jump of 11% over the corresponding period last year.
