Sit back and relax at the Zuri

The Ibis Executive Bar and Grille at the pool deck of the recently opened Zuri Whitefield, Bangalore incorporates a mix of the stylish and the relaxed in its poolside dine and lounge area. Bindu Gopal RaO explores the depths.

Nestled in the bustling Whitefield area of Bangalore, recently opened Zuri is a mix of cultivated sophistication and cool urbanity. The hotel seeks to pamper the global business traveler with unmatched quality and a wealth of state-of-the-art services.

Given its contemporary design, culinary excellence, spacious accommodation and personalised service, this is being touted as the next big destination in the city where business and pleasure gel together in a stylish ambience.

Phoenix Group Global has launched this hotel as part of its global portfolio of luxury hotels with an investment of Rs200 crore. The eight-storied hotel has 166 rooms including two presidential suites and four junior suites. There are dining outlets as well.

The Ibis Executive Bar and Grille, located by the second floor poolside, has been well thought out to provide a one-stop place to relax, wine and dine.

Says Priti Chand, director PR and communication: “The concept behind this space was to have a place for our guests to chill out, have a swim, have a beer, pick up a barbeque and just enjoy the open space with a completely relaxed mind.”

At the center of this space is a temperature controlled pool designed to look like an infinity pool.

There are several types of of seating and lounging spaces designed around this pool. As the area is mostly outdoors or uncovered the furniture that has been used here is made from wood that has been especially treated for waterproofing and weather vagaries.

“In fact this furniture is specially created to withstand any kind of temperature,” explains Chand.

This space is exclusively for use of in-house guests but will soon allow members to use this space as well. The interesting part of this space is that it overlooks the Whitefield Lake and that makes for a stunning natural visual setting.
