Shree Cement enters Limca Book of Records
Shree Cements, the largest cement manufacturer in North India has secured its place in the prestigious and popular ‘Limca Book of Records – National Records 2010’ for the record completion time of its new 1 MTPA plant in a span of 12 months starting March 23, 2009 to March 24, 2010.
Upbeat on the achievement, HM Bangur, Managing Director of the Company said, "The recognition from the Limca Book of Records showcases the incredible feats achieved by Indians for unique achievements across the country. Today, it has become synonymous with the ‘spirit of excellence’ and is hailed as a benchmark for national records. Our entry into the Limca Book of Records has instilled a sense of self worth, pride and spurred us to think big and aspire even greater in the future."
Limca Book of Records catalogues achievements of Indians in diverse fields including firsts, inventions, discoveries, honours and awards received at home or abroad, in all fields of human endeavour.
It may also be recalled that Shree Cement won the prestigious first prize in Energy Conservation for Ras Unit V for the year 2009.Consistent management thrust on energy conservation activities and adoption of cost efficient measures in all spheres of the company operations has resulted in making Shree cement one of the most energy efficient and cost efficient companies.
Shree Cement is a front runner in adopting Clean Development Mechanism and the first cement company in the world to earn carbon credits for Optimal Utilization of Clinker.
