Continuing its series of sector-specific forums and platforms, Shell Lubricants hosted its 1st Technology forum for the mining sector. The forum brought together prominent industry experts from CII, and OEMs such as Coal India, Essel Mining Pvt. Ltd, and Tata Hitachi, among others to share insights on specific industry trends, challenges, best practices, emission norms outlook and deliberate upon the future scenarios in the mining industry. On the side-lines of the forum, Shell Lubricants also launched Shell RIMULA R4L 15W 40, a heavy duty diesel engine oil under its brand Rimula.

Based on high performance Group II base oils, Shell Rimula R4L is one of the most advanced 15W-40 oil technologies available, and is suitable for all on-highway and off- highway equipments. This product meets API CJ-4 and Volvo VDS-4 performance levels. With this product, operators can benefit from low emissions, improved wear and deposit control and improved oxidation resistance (oil life).

The event witnessed about 100 participants from different mining companies, OEMs and customers including Tata Hitachi, Thriveni Earthmovers Pvt. Ltd., Adani, Sasan Power Ltd., Essel Mining Pvt. Ltd., Coal India, Ambey Mining, Dhansar Engg. Pvt. Ltd. amongst others. The forum provided an opportunity for the participants to discuss lubrication challenges and requirements.
