Schneider Electric enters renewable energy market

Schneider Electric India has announced its entry into the renewable energy market with the launch of the Xantrex range of products. The company has rebranded the Xantrex range as Schneider Electric to offer its customers increased access to a wider range of integrated solutions.
Olivier Blum, Managing Director, Schneider Electric India, said: “The launch of Schneider Electric renewable energy solutions marks our entry into the expanding Indian renewable energy market. The new renewable solutions complement the existing Schneider Electric integrated solutions making energy safe, reliable, efficient, productive and green for our customers from plant to plug.”
With the launch of Xantrex, Schneider Electric is looking at becoming key player in the development, manufacturing and marketing of advanced power electronic products and systems for the renewable power market. The company specialises in inverters and gateways to solar and wind plants that convert the direct current produced by clean generators such as photovoltaic panels or wind turbines into alternating current which is required by electronic equipment and the electricity grid.
Schneider Electric’s Xantrex range of products which have been launched in India consist of Change Controllers, MPPT Solar Change Controllers, Solar Invertors / Chargers, Grid Tie Inverters and Off Grid and Hybrid Inverter Chargers. The company said these products will be distributed through a nation-wide distribution channel and supported by Schneider Electric’s nation-wide service network.
With the government’s much needed thrust on the renewable energy, the sector is poised for continued high growth in India. Analysts feel the demand for renewable energy is expected to remain strong, mainly because of increasing costs of fossil energies, sensitivity to environmental concerns and financial incentives.
