Sany opens its first manufacturing plant in India

Sany Group, a China-based construction machinery manufacturer with products offerings ranging from concrete pump, concrete mixer truck, batching plants, motor graders to cranes, rollers and pavers, has opened its first manufacturing facility in Pune. The 3.3 lakh square meter plant, its second manufacturing facility in Asia, will enable it to create and develop new construction machinery technologies and custom-tailor these to suit specific India market.
Liang Dong, Managing Director, Sany India, said: “India is a key market for us. As in China, infrastructure development is at the centre of India’s new global dynamic. Given the positive response from existing clients and our expansion into new markets, our India facility will significantly enhance our ability to deliver industry-leading, real time solutions and will help us continue to meet the demands of our rapidly growing customer base both nationally and internationally."
The company said the new facility will include a comprehensive manufacturing set-up, product design and customization center, sales, renting, service, storage, logistics and full fledged R&D centre. The India centre will manufacture trailer-mounted concrete pump, truck-mounted concrete pump, concrete mixer truck, concrete batching plant and motor grader and cranes.
With its current market share of 25%, Sany Group says India’s growing construction equipment market is expected to touch US$12-13 billion in 2015.
