The Uttar Pradesh government has launched construction and infrastructure projects worth Rs 12,700 crore in Etah district. The projects include the setting up of a thermal power plant at Rs 12,300 crore and a medical college, besides 255 other development projects at Rs 420 crore.
The first unit of the thermal plant is expected to become operational by March 2023 and the second one will be commissioned by June the same year. The power plant will not just boost electricity generation but also generate employment opportunities for the local youth.
The CM directed officials to open a skill development centre in Etah to make the youth in the region employable and ensure the availability of smart classes in schools. The medical college, which was a long-standing demand of the locals, will soon have its own medical college and hospital providing better health care services to people in the district. The government of the day is going all out to improve economic activities in the area and is working with a development-oriented approach to ensure all round development of the region.
