The 44 km Sinnar-Shirdi stretch of the Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Samruddhi Mahamarg is likely to be opened for vehicles by end of March, 2023.

The six-lane access-controlled expressway is expected to reduce the travel time between Sinnar and Shirdi as well as Sinnar and Nagpur.

Barring a small section near Shirdi, the rest of the 44 km stretch is ready, as per Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).

Once operational, the Sinnar-Shirdi stretch of the expressway will help reduce the distance between Sinnar and Shirdi to just 44 km, and the commute time to about 30 minutes. The travel time between Sinnar and Nagpur will be reduced from the current nine hours to six hours.

The Nagpur-Shirdi is the first phase (502 km) of the Samruddhi Mahamarg greenfield project.
