DS Group announces Rs 500 crore investment for expansion of hotel portfolio

The Group also has retail brands such as Le Marche and L’Opera in its portfolio

The Dharampal Satyapal (DS) Group plans to invest Rs 1,000 crore in the hospitality sector over the next three years. It entails investing Rs 500 crore on expanding the current portfolio, while another Rs 500 crore is allocated for new hotels.

For addition to its existing portfolio, the multi-business and FMCG corporation is considering locations in the North-east and North India, as India is becoming an investment hub, which is fueling the hospitality and tourism sector.

By 2025, about 250 rooms will be added to its portfolio of hotels. The move is led by both seasonal and regular demand for events including weddings and conferences, and international tourism. It clocks occupancy rate at 75 percent across all of its properties.

The DS Group’s hotels includes The Manu Maharani in Nainital with 67 rooms, Radisson Blu hotel in Guwahati with 196 rooms, Crowne Plaza in Jaipur Tonk Road with 218 rooms and others. The Holiday Inn Express Kolkata Airport has 125 rooms, while the Marriott managed Renaissance, Bengaluru has 276 rooms.
