AmpIn Energy Transition, an energy transition platform, will supply 10MWp of solar power from its 30MWp solar plant in Mishrikh, Uttar Pradesh, to cement manufacturer JK Cement. AmpIn claims to be the first and largest independent power producer (IPP) with a robust solar portfolio in the state, having commissioned back-to-back solar open-access projects.
The partnership marks a significant milestone in India’s transition towards clean energy sources. It also stands as a testament to the joint dedication of both companies to reshape India’s energy landscape, reduce carbon footprint, and drive transformative progress in clean energy, especially in the infrastructure sector.
“AmpIn Energy Transition has started delivering power to our Aligarh Unit from their recently commissioned 30MWp Mishrikh Solar Project. With this 10MWp solar offtake, we will be taking the overall renewable energy (RE) replacement to more than 60% in our overall energy mix at Aligarh Manufacturing Plant, thereby reducing more than 10,780 tonnes of CO2 annually,” said Madhav Singhania, deputy managing director and CEO of JK Cement said.
Pinaki Bhattacharyya, CEO and managing director of MD, AmpIn Energy Transition, added that this is the company’s fifth solar open-access project in Uttar Pradesh. “We are thankful to the JK team for choosing us as their RE transition partner and are happy to have them as our repeat customers in the state. This initiative reflects our commitment to powering the RE transition in the country by helping customers reach 100% RE and exemplifies our dedication to innovation, sustainable development, and empowering communities,” he added.
With a total investment of Rs 1337 crore, AmpIn has a cumulative solar project portfolio of 300MWp across seven locations in Uttar Pradesh. Of these, 120 MWp is operational and 180MWp is at an advanced stage of execution. The company is actively investing new capital to develop more renewable projects and provide RE transition options to commercial and industrial consumers in the state.
