In line with its aim to diversify its energy mix to include renewable sources of power generation, NTPC participated in the tender floated by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for 250MW grid connected solar projects at Dondaicha Solar Park, Dhule, Maharashtra. The Maharatna PSU won 100MW of solar capacities at a tariff of Rs 2.91/unit as a part of the reverse auction.

Taking NTPC'S total capacity won under tariff based competitive bidding to 345MW, this 100MW solar project shall be set up by NTPC under the EPC mode.

With a vision to “provide green power through locally available resources at affordable price, promoting clean energy”, NTPC aims to become the country’s largest green power producer in the coming years, supplementing the conventional energy sources to ensure competitiveness and mitigate fuel risks.
