L&T's construction division bags large order from Bangalore Metro Rail

Engineering and construction giant Larsen & Toubro's construction division has bagged an order worth Rs 2,500-5,000 crore from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation for the design and construction of the Phase - 2 works, the company said in a statement. The project is scheduled to be completed in 42 months.


The scope for Package 2 includes underground structures (tunnels & stations) of approximately 2.76 kms from Vellara Junction station to Shivajinagar station, and three underground metro stations at Vellara Junction, MG Road and Shivajinagar on the Reach-6 line.


The company will also execute Package 3, which involves design and construction of underground structures that will be 2.884 kms in length from Shivajinagar station to Tannery Road station and two underground metro stations at Cantonment and Pottery Town on the same metro rail line.
