15% of Versova-Bandra sea link construction finalised

One pier of a Mumbai bridge project has been completed

The Versova-Bandra Sea Link (VBSL) construction project, overseen by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), has reached a new milestone with 15% of the civil work now complete.

One pier of a Mumbai bridge project has been completed, with piling work for the remaining piers in progress. To facilitate transportation of raw materials, machinery, and personnel, barges are positioned at 10 different sea locations. A specially designed barge equipped with a floating concrete factory, mixing plant, pump, and separate placing boom has been deployed to expedite the construction process.

The completion deadline for the Versova-Bandra Sea Link (VBSL) project in Mumbai has been pushed back to May 2028 from the previous deadline of December 2026. The project involves building a sealink bridge along the city’s west coast, connecting Bandra in the south to Versova at Nana Nani Park in the north. The link will also feature intermediate connectors at Juhu Koliwada and Otter’s Club and will include toll facilities.
