Damodar Valley Corporation gets green nod for tubed coal mine project

The cost of the project is Rs 1,300 crore

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) has accorded environment clearance (EC) to Damodar Valley Corporation for tubed coal mine project.

The tubed coal mine project will have a capacity of six million tpa located in Latehar district of Jharkhand.

The coal linkage of the project is proposed for MTPS Units-7 and 8 and CTPS Unit-8.

The cost of the project is Rs 1,300 crore. The project will create employment for 1,200 people. The total mining lease area as per block allotment is 460 ha.

The total geological reserve reported in the mine leas area is 189.82 million tonne with 170.83 million tonne mineable reserve. Out of the 170.83 million tonne, 139 million tonne are available for extraction.

The life of the mine is 30 years.
