Local administrations in Bihar, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat have begun providing permission to resume road construction and repair work.

In around eight to 10 districts of these four states, district magistrates have allowed road construction to resume, although in a controlled manner. The relaxations have come only in non-hotspot districts.

Construction has been allowed in Muzaffarpur, Chapra, Khagaria and Supaul in Bihar; Shivpuri and Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh; Bhavnagar in Gujarat, and Nagpur in Maharashtra. Permission has been accorded only for urgent work. For instance, road repair work will not be possible once monsoon begins in June 2020.
