ENGIE commissions 250 MW Kadapa solar power project
The 200 MW phase was commissioned ahead of schedule in May 2019
ENGIE has fully commissioned its 250 MW Kadapa solar power project in Andhra Pradesh on 17 February 2020. The 200 MW phase was commissioned ahead of schedule in May 2019.
The remaining 50 MW was recently commissioned in order to provide power to about 4,00,000 people. ENGIE was awarded the Kadapa solar power project in April 2017. The company signed a 25 year power purchase agreement (PPA) for this in March 2018.
Over one million panels and over 2,700 string inverters were installed with 1.9 million safe man hours put by over 1,200 skilled and unskilled manpower in a site spread across 1,250 acre.
ENGIE has been present and active in India for over 40 years and has a total installed capacity of more than 1.5 GW in renewables. It employs around 1,000 people in power generation, engineering and energy services.
