Draft, design ready for elevated railway track in Kurukshetra

The government has prepared an all-weather rail track project to beautify the city

The Haryana Railway Infrastructure Development Corporation has prepared a draft and design of the elevated railway track.

The draft has now been sent to the Central government for final approval for the track to come up in Kurukshetra. A tender for the project is likely to be invited from February 2020 after approval by the Central government, and work will commence from March 2020.

The track will be about five km long and an amount of Rs 225 crore will be spent. Of this, Rs 125 crore will be spent by the state and Rs 100 crore will be provided by the railways. Of this, Rs 125 crore will be spent by the state and Rs 100 crore by the Railways. The agency appointed on behalf of the Haryana Railway Infrastructure Development Corporation had done the testing.

Kurukshetra is being developed by the state government as a pilgrimage and tourist destination of world class.
