KERAKOLL GROUP: Technical supplier to Milan’s first and world’s most beautiful Starbucks

Kerakoll was selected for its latest generation, eco-friendly systems which were used to lay the floors throughout the building

Kerakoll Group, Starbucks, Milan, Italy, Fugabella, Fugaballa Eco Porcelana 0-5, Milan Roastery

Starbucks arrives in Milan with the opening of its first store in Italy and the most beautiful Starbucks in the world: the Starbucks Reserve Roastery. The highly anticipated Milan Roastery is the crown jewel of Starbucks global retail footprint, a place where italian customers can come to discover the art and science of coffee in a breath-taking environment that is both, a homage to the city of Milan and a celebration of everything Starbucks has learned about coffee in its 47-year history.

Standing at 2,300 square meters (25,000 square feet), the Milan Roastery is in Milan’s Palazzo della Poste on the Piazza Cordusio, only street near to iconic landmarks such as the Duomo di Milano, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and Teatro alla Scala. At the Milan Roastery, heritage and innovation take center stage against a backdrop of stunning design, signed by architectural firm Arup.

As customers enters the building, they are met with a jaw-dropping view that spans every aspect of the Roastery experience. Vibrant colours reflective of the Italian fashion and design community greet each person, and over the course of the day, the space transforms from the light filtering through the glass ceiling. Kerakoll was selected for its latest generation, eco-friendly systems which were used to lay the floors throughout the building: more specifically the high-resistance H40 No Limits adhesive with specific technology for the laying of ceramic floor and natural stone, and Fugabella Eco Porcelana 0-5 mineral grouts for extremely colour-fast joints.

To introduce, H40 No limits is the highly flexible, multipurpose, structural adhesive to fix fully vitrified tiles and natural stone of all types and size. Based on recycledraw materials, this new product is, in turn, recyclable at the end of its lifecycle and is in full compliance with Kerakoll GreenBuilding philosophy which has always been one of the main objectives pursued by the company. H40 No Limits guarantees excellent stability immediately after fixing tiles or stones, both horizontally or in elevations and with either low or high viscosity mix.

For grouting, Fugaballa Eco Porcelana 0-5 is the certified, eco-friendly, naturally bacteriostatic and fungistatic, stabilized mineral grout containing pure natural NHL 5 lime for extremely colour-fast joints from 0 mm to 5 mm in thickness, ideal for use in GreenBuilding. It has very low volatile organic compound emissions, contains recycled raw materials, and is recyclable as an inert material at the end of its life. Fugabella® Eco Porcelana 0-5 develops an extra-fine, micro-grain finish with scratch-proof surface hardness which enhances the reflected light effect ensuring it blends seamlessly with the design of vitrified and ceramic tiles, glass mosaic and natural stone.
