NBCC (India) to partially hand over Pragati Maidan project
The IECC is expected to be one-stop venue for international and domestic events
NBCC (India) will soon partially hand over the Pragati Maidan complex redevelopment project in New Delhi with three of the five exhibition halls nearing completion. The Rs 2,250 crore project has been delayed by a year and NBCC (India) is expected to complete it by 2020.
The International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC) is expected to be one-stop venue for international and domestic events, summits, conferences and high level ministerial meetings.
The mega convention centre will be 32.4m tall building with a capacity of 7,000 people in a single format as well as amphitheatre with 3,000 people, and will be five time larger than Vigyan Bhawan.
The convention centre will include 22 meeting rooms, special areas for high-level and international dignitaries and a rooftop helipad with elevator access for VIPs. The exhibition segment of the integrated centre will have seven new modern exhibition halls alongwith prefunction area with exhibition space of one lakh sq mtr.
