NHAI floats tender for four-laning of Gandhidham Mundra Port Section

Has also invited bids for toll rights in seven NHs

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has floated tender for four-laning of Gandhidham (Kandla)-Mundra Port section.

The section to be undertaken is a part of NH-8A (extn) between 0.00 km to 71.400km in Gujarat. The work will be implemented on item rate basis.

The road work will be completed at a cost of Rs 134.95 crore in a period of 18 months.

Similarly, it has also invited bids from the private sector for auctioning of tolling rights in seven national highways (NH), as part of Bundle-4 of toll-operate-transfer (TOT) mode.

NHAI has set the base price at Rs 4,170 crore. The bundle has 401.58km of roads in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan.

The last date for submitting bids is 14 January, 2020. This comes while NHAI is evaluating bids in Bundle-3. Adani Enterprises, Cube Highways and Infrastructure, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) and IRB Infrastructure were expected to place binding bids for Bundle-3.

The reserve price has been set at Rs 4,995.48 crore. The winning bidder is expected to be announced over the course of October 2019.
