Ozonegroup launches ‘The Metrozone’

Realty major Ozonegroup has launched ‘The Metrozone’ in Chennai.  Spread over a sprawling 42 acres at Anna Nagar, ‘The Metrozone’ is the largest mixed, integrated development in the heart of Chennai offering residential options of Apartments, penthouses and commercial space for hospitality, retail and offices. 
The project was launched with the unveiling of the unique ‘Metrozone Dome’ by Deepak Parekh, chairman, HDFC, in the presence of S Vasudevan, MD, Ozonegroup and other dignitaries. ‘The Metrozone’ is being developed as a self contained township with 1,600+ residential units across 29 towers (25 towers in first phase) of G+16 structure and 1.2 million square feet of commercial complex including a mall, multiplex and office space.
A swanky star hotel within the complex will bring more convenience to both the home and commercial residents. ‘The Metrozone’ has many firsts to its credit, including the largest car park in India with over 6,000 capacity in 3 basement levels and the largest private piped gas network. 
According to Sudarshan KS, COO, Ozonegroup, “Utmost care has been taken in the design of the units in ‘The Metrozone’. To enhance quality of construction, Ozonegroup will be adopting concrete wall design using metal formwork. Significant research has been done in other aspects of construction including internal and external finishes, water treatment, waste/garbage collection and treatment/disposal.
All units in ‘The Metrozone’ come with pre-conduiting for air-conditioning units. Our key differentiator is in providing abundant infrastructure and addressing the most important needs of the residents – water, electricity, parking and security to name a few. Ozonegroup is investing significantly to make all projects environment friendly, with rain water harvesting, solar/heating and lighting, waste optimization and other eco friendly features”
‘The Metrozone’ brings to India for the first time, the globally renowned CPG Consultants, Singapore, as Lead Consultants and Architects. Structural design is being handled by potential consultants, service consultancy is being provided by Entask Consultants while the landscape consultancy is by Site Concepts, Singapore. ‘The Metrozone’ project size is estimated at Rs. 2,500 crore, generating nearly 35,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities through the project lifecycle. The project is scheduled to be completed in about 52 months, with the first phase of residential apartments scheduled for handover in 36 months.
