NTPC awards Rs105 crore order to SPML

The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has awarded a consolidated order worth Rs105 crore to Subhash Projects & Marketing Ltd (SPML) for the Simhadri Super Thermal Power Project at Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The order, which includes station piping package and installation services, is a part of the capacity expansion plan for Simhadri Super Thermal Power Project to provide the growing power needs of the state of Andhra Pradesh. SPML’s scope of work includes:
1. Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply, Testing at Shop, Inspection, packaging, transportation to site, storage, taking delivery of supplied equipment from site stores, in plant transportation, fabrication at site, erection, cleaning, anticorrosive protection, painting of above ground piping.
2. Testing and commissioning of all piping systems including items like fittings, supports/ hangers, valves, actuators, motors, specialties, tanks, instruments, drain, vents including drain/ vent valves and air release valves and impressed current type cathodic protection for sea water make up, Effluent disposal & sweet water make up system.
The Simhadri station has received several awards including the Greentech Gold Award for 2008 from the Greentech Society. “This prestigious project will improve the power situation of the state of Andhra Pradesh and will also cater to the rising power needs in the southern region,” said Subhash Sethi, vice chairman, SPML.
