Aurigo Software Technologies is providing software support to NICMAR in collaboration with Microsoft. Aurigo and Microsoft will provide NICMAR with free licenses of BRIX 2009, Aurigo’s web-based construction management and inspection software, and free licenses of Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP software under their respective academic alliance programs. The objective of Aurigo’s and Microsoft’s generous software grant is to provide construction management students of NICMAR access to the same best- in-class, powerful construction ready ERP solution that is deployed in many real-world global projects. This will bolster the Institute’s curriculum offering and support the new Construction ERP Lab that is being set up at NICMAR’s Pune campus and subsequently at the Hyderabad and Goa campuses..
Speaking on the academic alliance with Aurigo and Microsoft, Dr Mangesh G Korgaonker, director general at NICMAR said: “This initiative will help us deliver industry-ready professionals into the market. We are committed to enhancing the quality of the education experience for construction management students and gear them with practical knowledge, competencies, skills and training to serve and function in the infrastructure and real estate verticals. Through this alliance we will bridge the gap between industry requirement and academia.”
Balaji Sreenivasan, founder and CEO of Aurigo Software Technologies Inc said: “Infrastructure spend in India is a clear focus and as projects grow in size and complexity, it has become imperative for companies to have complete visibility into their business and projects. Only with visibility can they streamline their processes and manage cost and time to bring in efficiency. Construction houses in India have to keep up with their western counterparts and have begun investing heavily in industry ready ERP systems.”
Sushant Dwivedy, director Microsoft Business Solutions, Microsoft Corporation India Pvt. Ltd stated: “An optimal use of IT is the corner stone of increasing the productivity levels of the construction industry in India. Microsoft is delighted to partner with Aurigo to facilitate the setting up of the ERP Lab at NICMAR which will in turn generate a set of ERP ready professionals which the construction industry is seeking.”
