India’s merchandise exports rise 2.14% in July: Govt data

India’s imports increased by 43.61 per cent to USD 66.27 billion as compared to USD 46.5 billion during the month of July 2021.

India’s exports during July increased by 2.14 per cent to USD 36.27 billion as against USD 35.51 billion in the corresponding month last year.

Imports, on the other hand, increased by 43.61 per cent to USD 66.27 billion as compared to USD 46.5 billion during the month of July 2021.

Overall exports, including merchandise and services is estimated to be USD 61.18 billion, registering a growth of 11.51 per cent over the same period last year. The combined imports during July are estimated to be USD 82.22 billion, a growth of 42.90 per cent over the same period last year.

The merchandise trade deficit in July 2022 was estimated at USD 30 billion as against USD 10.63 billion in July 2021, which is an increase of 182.10 per cent.

According to government data, the export of non-petroleum and non-gems & jewellery was USD 26.62 billion, registering a positive growth of 1.55 per cent over non-petroleum and non-gems & jewellery exports of USD 26.21 billion in July 2021.
