Maytas bags PGCIL contract

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has entrusted Maytas Infra Limited, a Hyderabad-based construction and infrastructure development company, with four rural electrification works worth Rs222.25 crore under the Rajeev Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY) scheme.

Maytas will electrify 4125 villages, which will illuminate 2,15,843 BPL houses.

The project will be executed on a turnkey basis, and the scope of works involves design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning in Khurda and Sundergarh districts of Orissa, and West Midnapore district of West Bengal.

The size of the contracts are estimated to be Rs37.34 crore in Sundergarh,  Orissa; Rs38.14 crore in Khurda, Orissa; Rs75.92 crore in Midnapore (Package A), West Bengal; and Rs70.85 crore in Midnapore (Package B), West Bengal.
