Maytas bags Godavari water supply contract


Maytas Infra Limited, a Hyderabad-based construction and infrastructure development company, has bagged the contract to build the Godavari drinking water supply scheme project worth Rs169.50 crore.

Awarded by Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) Maytas Infra will execute the project in joint venture with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Kirloskar Brothers Ltd (KBL). The total value of the project is Rs809.62 crore.

To be executed in Kondapak and Ghanpur along Karimnagar Road near Hyderabad, the work entails transmission of 735 mld treated Godavari water from clear water reservoir (CWR) at Kondapak to master balancing reservoirs (MBRs) at Ghanpur.

“We feel this project will have a significant impact on the lives of the people. Access to safe drinking water is one of the key measures of the quality of life of people,” said PK Madhav, CEO, Maytas Infra.

Maytas Infra Limited was earlier awarded a Rs44.88 crore contract for providing water supply distribution system in Visakhapatnam.
