L&T, HCC, RInfra bid for trans-harbour project

Leading infrastructure developers including L&T, Hindustan Construction Company, Reliance Infrastructure and Essar, have submitted their bids for the ambitious Rs8,800-crore Mumbai Trans-harbour Link (MTHL) project.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is implementing the 22-km long link that connects Sewri in the northeastern fringe of the island city to Nhava in Navi Mumbai.
Apart from the four companies, major infrastructure players, including Simplex Infrastructure, Samsung, Welspun, Sreeram Urban Infra, Gammon Infra and IL&FS, have also submitted their bids, a statement issued by MMRDA said.
The Rs8,800-crore project will be implemented through public-private-partnership on the design, build, finance, operate and transfer basis.
"We have received a good response. This project will pave way to economic development of Navi Mumbai and surrounding areas," MMRDA Commissioner Rahul Asthana said.
