Kamal Nath calls for skills development

Union Urban Development Minister, Kamal Nath has called for harnessing talent, experience and knowledge for maintaining appropriate standards of building construction. He also underlined the need for skill development at all levels for improving construction activities in the country. The minister was inaugurating the 18th Annual Convention and National Seminar on “Training, Skill Upgradation & Competence Development in Building Industry” organised by Indian Buildings Congress in New Delhi today.

He said, “We should be able to adopt and adapt to cope with the latest technology.” He further added that the contribution of the building industry in employment generation has been phenomenal. "For global competitiveness, we have to develop in totality," he emphasised. Kamal Nath also presented IBC Awards for Excellence in Built Environment for the year 2011.
