India, Yemen to focus on energy and infra sector

In an effort to strengthen bilateral trade between India and Yemen, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will be taking first ever business delegation to Yemen from May 28-30, 2010.
India’s total trade with Yemen has reached US$1, 5491.91million in 2008-09 from US$ 277.23 million in 2004-05. CII believes that there is enormous potential for cooperation in areas of Energy (refining, power plants, and oil and gas exploration), infrastructure, information technology, healthcare and medical cities besides others.
During this visit CII will be signing an MoU with the Federation of Yemen Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FYCCI), which is the leading industry association in Yemen.
The business delegation includes senior executives from Larsen and Turbo Limited, Escorts Limited, Psychotropics India Limited, Nadeem Leatherware Exports, Wapcos limited and Value Addition.
