India & W.Australia talk opportunities in mining

India and Western Australia had discussions on enhancing cooperation between India and Western Australia in the mining sector. The discussions were held between Brendon Grylls MLS, Minister for Regional Development, Lands, Western Australia and Santha Sheela Nair, Secretary, Ministry of Mines. Both sides discussed areas of mutual cooperation to enhance cooperation under the MOU signed between India and Western Australia on Cooperative Staff Development related to Environmental Governance and Mine Rehabilitation.
The visiting Minister expressed his interest in enhancing cooperation under the MOU. He also emphasized the need to increase business opportunities for Indian companies in Western Australia and discussed possibilities of linkage with Western Australian universities in relation to creating an international centre for mining excellence.
The Indian side also expressed its interest in continuing the MOU with Western Australia. Possibilities of broadening the MOU and creating opportunities for developing public private partnership for enhancing business relationship with Western Australia were also discussed.
