HNG float glass venture
Hindustan National Glass and Industries Ltd (HNGIL) has ventured into the float glass and other value-added glass manufacturing business at an investment of Rs620 crore. HNG Float Glass Ltd is located in Hallol, close to Vadodara in Gujarat and carries with it a 60-year legacy of manufacturing container glass from its parent company. ]
HNGIL controls 70 per cent of the market share in the container glass business. Well-known brands such as Pepsi, Coke, Kingfisher and companies like Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Pfizer, Glaxo and Nestle are its customers of long standing.
The plant has technology from TECO in the USA, equipments and machinery from CNUD in Belgium, Bottero in Italy, Markel in the USA, ISRA in Germany and Bystronic in Switzerland.
The integrated plant is designed to produce tinted, mirror and reflective glass. In the clear glass segment a wide range from 2mm to 12mm thickness is being marketed. Facilities to manufacture low-e, low iron solar glass and automotive glass are being set-up. The product portfolio of HNG addresses all customer segments.
The management has seasoned professionals at the helm of affairs. Mukul Somany, the JMD, is an office bearer of the Confederation of Indian Industry.
