Hindalco to launch branded windows, door systems
Hindalco, part of the US$35 billion Aditya Birla Group, will be launching branded windows, door systems and building facade for residential and commercial properties next month.
V Ramaswamy, assistant vice president and head, central market development cell, Hindalco, said the company is introducing the Eterna branded range of windows and doors systems to the Indian market and is aiming to capture at least 25% of the window and door market to start with.
He, however, did not provide details such as the size of the branded windows market in terms of volume and value. Similarly, the company is introducing an all-aluminium facade for large buildings, through its globally-renowned brand Novelis.
"Customers are always confused with the make and quality of the unbranded aluminium windows and doors systems available in the local market. Therefore, we have decided to launch the highly-durable Eternia range of aluminium windows and doors systems in January. It is the first such branded product in the country," Ramaswamy said.
Eternia is suitable for all kinds of buildings, including residential and commercial. The windows and doors systems are available in all ranges. The product will hit the market in January, he said.
Hindalco is also assisting various original equipment manufacturers to develop innovative products in automobiles, building and construction, electrical sector, consumer durables and other emerging areas using aluminium.
"We have the technology and the same is already demonstrated to the industry. We are more than willing to help firms that want all-aluminium products. Recently, we helped a popular bicycle brand to produce an aluminium-intensive mountain bike. The weight of the mountain bike has reduced by 35 per cent now," Ramaswamy said.
