Gujarat to host world’s largest solar park

Gujarat will soon host the world’s largest solar park. The project will be set up by the Clinton Foundation, founded by former US President Bill Clinton. A delegation led by the foundation’s chairman Ira Magaziner recently met the state’s Chief Minister Narendra Modi and other top officials to firm up plans to set up a mega 3000-3,500 MW solar park in the state.
According to informed sources, the delegation expressed their keenness to sign a MoU for this project which entails an investment of approximately US$10 billion (depending on the size of the project). The foundation has also reportedly commenced trials with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and is scouting for land in north Gujarat to host the project.
