Entering a new era

Construction Week along with Boon Edam India organised a webinar to discuss those rooting for touchless access systems vs those who don't

Boon Edam India, Capt Edwin Saldanha, Gautam Bhasin, Inhabit Group, Khozema Chitalwala, Designer Group, Amit Sarkar, Anyvision, Vinod Kapse, Kapse Consulting Engineers, Nitin Nagrale, HPMF, Sudipta Ray, K Raheja Corp, Raman Sapru, Touchless technology, Revolving doors, Access solutions

It was a timely discussion. At a time when fear has struck everyone about touching any objects that are foreign, the idea of Touchless Secure Entry Solutions in the post Covid-19 World came in at the right time.

Boom Edam is a global provider of secure solutions ranging from revolving doors to access gates to security doors to full height turnstiles, among others. Construction Week, on the other hand, has always been a strong supporter of technology if it can enhance the lives of users.

The seven-member strong panel comprised:
*Gautam Bhasin, Regional Head, Inhabit Group
*Khozema Chitalwala, Principal Architect, Designer Group
*Amit Sarkar, Regional Director-South Asia, Anyvision
*Capt. Edwin Saldana, MD, Boon Edam India
*Vinod Kapse, Director, Kapse Consulting Engineers
*Nitin Nagrale, Founder, HPMF & CEO, QualityNZ, and
*Sudipta Ray, Sr. VP, Projects, K Raheja Corp.

Each had vivid points to make about adopting these technologies at the numerous projects they are involved in. The point to to convince shareholders, but most seemed sure that post Covid-19, this would not pose much of a problem.
