Dellner Couplers sets up mfg facility at Chennai

Sweden-based Dellner Couplers, a leading manufacturer of couplers used for joining coaches in trains, has set up a manufacturing facility at Poonamalle in Chennai to cater to the domestic and global markets. The Chennai facility will be supported by the company’s marketing office in Delhi.
According to company sources, the initial investment in the new facility would be approximately Rs3 crore and there are plans to scale it up in the coming years. Dellner aims to do a business of over Rs60 crore a year.
Elaborating further the company’s MD (India), Manvinderjit Singh said that in recent years, the Indian Government has been focusing on metro rail projects for big and small cities and upgradation of Indian Railways to reduce running time and jerks on main line to give more comforts to passengers. The company already has orders from Delhi Metro, Mumbai Metro and Indian Railways.
