Cabinet approves NH projects in AP & Orissa

The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure has approved the project of four laning of Vijayawada-Machlipatnam section of NH 9 in Andhra Pradesh under NHDP Phase IV-A on DBFOT basis in BOT (Toll) mode of delivery. The total estimated cost of the project is Rs736 crore, out of which Rs130 crore will be for land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation and pre-construction. The total length of the project is 64.611 Km. The concession period is 20 years including construction period of 24 months.
The project will reduce the time and cost of travel for traffic, particularly heavy traffic, plying between Vijayawada and Machilipatnam. The project will be in Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh.

Birmitrapur-Barkote section of NH 23 in Orissa

The Committee also approved the four/two laning with paved shoulder of Birmitrapur-Barkote section on NH23 in Orissa under NHDP Phase IV-A on DBFOT basis in BOT (Toll) mode of delivery. The total project estimated cost of the project is Rs1098.90 crore, out of which Rs320.75 crore will be for the land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation and pre-construction. The total length of the project is 125.615 km. The concession period is 23 years including construction period of 30 months.
The project will reduce the time and cost of travel for traffic, particularly heavy traffic, plying between Birmitrapur-Barkote. The project will cover the districts of Sundargah and Deogarh in Orrissa.
