IKEA India gets closer to Delhi NCR; Onboards Rhenus ahead of its online expansion

IKEA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rhenus, a global logistics leader, to improve home delivery for customers in the Delhi NCR region. This partnership aims to support the growth of IKEA’s e-commerce expansion and ensure faster and more sustainable deliveries in the area.

The upcoming facility is set to become a prime destination for warehousing logistics services, with excellent connectivity to all consumption areas in and around the National Capital Region (NCR). Located in Gurgaon, this 150,000 sq-ft facility is well-connected for inbound movements by rail, road, and air. Developed in line with IKEA India’s vision, it will be part of one of the largest and most modern warehouse and industrial parks in the country, featuring top-tier warehouse infrastructure and advanced storage and material handling systems. This facility will fulfill hundreds of orders daily, generate numerous job opportunities, and create a diverse and inclusive workspace while implementing industry-leading sustainable practices.

Commenting on the partnership, Saiba Suri, country customer fulfilment manager said, “Our collaboration with Rhenus transcends decades. The warehouse is expected to go live early next year, marking an enhanced customer service and operational efficiency for IKEA in India. Establishing the first fully outsourced central distribution centre for IKEA, seamlessly integrated with electronic data interchange linked to Rhenus’ Warehouse Management System for efficient transactions.
