Ghaziabad-based EPC company, EMS (formerly EMS Infracon), has bagged a letter of award (LOA) for a total value of Rs 358.56 crore from the Uttarakhand Urban Development Department for the development of sewerage systems and septage management.
As a part of the LOA, EMS will help develop a sewerage system for Raipur in Zones C, D, and E and undertake septage management in Zone 9, with five years of O&M (operations and maintenance) in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
EMS is a provider of sewerage solutions, water supply systems, water and waste treatment plants, electrical transmission and distribution, road and allied works, and the operation and maintenance of waste water and water supply scheme projects for government authorities. Almost all of the company’s projects are funded by the World Bank. As of July 2023, EMS has 18 projects worth Rs 1744.92 crore, alongside 5 O&M projects aggregating Rs 99.28 crore.
Ashish Tomar, MD, EMS, said, “The work is expected to begin by January 2024 and is likely to be completed in 42 months. The governments at the centre and states have been increasingly focusing on the development of towns and cities, and the creation and efficient management of sewerage infrastructure are crucial to supporting the exponential growth in this direction.”
