On the occasion of the National Safety Day, the Skill Development Committee ofCREDAI Chennai organised an event reinforcing safety standards in the construction industry. Spearheaded by Jeyakumar, chairman of the Skill Development Committee, and Dr T Arul, convener of the committee, the event brought together key stakeholders and industry experts to advocate for enhanced safety measures.
NG Muralidharan, chairman of the Indian Concrete Institute, made a compelling presentation outlining safety practices within the construction sector.
Subsequently, S Sivagurunathan, president of CREDAI Chennai, exemplified leadership by taking a solemn safety pledge, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to prioritizing safety across all construction projects. This pledge was echoed by industry professionals from Indian Concrete Institute, faculty members, and heads of the department of civil engineering from educational institutions such as Anna University, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, SRM Easwari Engineering College, Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai, and Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology, emphasizing the collective responsibility towards fostering a culture of safety. Mohamed Ali, president-elect of CREDAI Chennai, honored the participants present during the event.
