bauma 2019 sets new record this year at Munich
This year the fair is hosting more than 3,500 exhibitors from 55 countries
Gigantism is the word that best describes the construction machinery trade fair bauma: One reason the word fits so well is that it applies to the trade fair that has the world’s most space. Another reason simply applies to the sheer size of the construction machinery, vehicles and equipment that are showcased during the fair. The 32nd edition of bauma will be held from April 8-14, 2019, on the fairgrounds in Munich.
bauma gives visitors a complete overview of the market. In 2016, 3,425 companies presented their exhibits on 605,000m² of space, which—from leading international manufacturers to specialised newcomers. About 79% of trade visitors, who came from more than 200 countries, participate in the decision-making process.
When the fair was first held in 1954, it covered 20,000m². Bauma 2019 has 614,000m² available – 9,000m² more than the last edition and almost 31 times more than the first.
This year the fair is hosting more than 3,500 exhibitors from 55 countries, a new record; the number of halls has increased from 16 to 18; and more than 600,000 visitors are expected.
At Bauma 2019, visitors will be able to experience the digital construction site with the help of virtual and augmented reality. For the first time, companies can even present themselves completely digitally.
The Virtual Experience offers completely new opportunities in the areas of planning and development, advanced training and sales. Anyone wanting to train their apprentices under realistic conditions – in machine maintenance, for example – or looking to explain the inner workings of a crane to a customer no longer has to even leave the site.
XCMG, the leading Chinese construction machinery manufacturer, will bring a total of 16 products to the trade show, including new forklifts, loaders, piling machines, road rollers, road graders, cranes as well as tunnel, mining and bridge equipment. XCMG will be at booth FS.1105/2 of Messe München.
Case Construction Equipment’s participation is with its new combined steering system for Case graders – an industry first. Case will unveil the patented feature which combines the industry-standard controls for the front wheel and frame articulation angle of a grader into one function, managed through either the joystick or the steering wheel. Another highlight of the Case stand will be its new compact wheel loaders with electrohydraulic controls. With more than 20 sensors and 20 electrohydraulic actuators installed on the machine, Case says this new technology will improve operator controllability, provide the option to select different operating modes and allow combined movements. Operators will have greater control over the hydraulic speed for both travel and unloading.
