54% wage increase for AI proficient workers, says AWS study

96% of women and 90% of baby boomers expressing interest in acquiring AI skills

Indian workers with Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills could see their salaries increase by over 54%, according to a report by Amazon Web Services (AWS). The highest pay hikes are expected in the IT and research and development sectors.

Nearly 99% of employers foresee their businesses transforming into AI-driven organizations by 2028, according to a report commissioned by Amazon subsidiary, AWS.

A new study reveals that most employers (97%) expect their finance departments to be the primary beneficiaries of artificial intelligence (AI) implementations. However, employers also anticipate significant value addition from AI in other departments, including IT, research and development, sales and marketing, each expected to benefit by 96% of employers. Business operations (95%), human resources (94%), and legal (92%) departments are also predicted to reap substantial benefits from AI usage.

A survey reveals that approximately 98% of employers and workers anticipate using generative AI tools in their jobs within the next five years. The majority of employers, around 73%, identify the primary advantage of this technology as ‘increasing innovation and creativity’.

A significant majority of workers across different generations are eager to acquire artificial intelligence (AI) skills. According to a survey, 95% of Gen Z, 96% of millennials, and 93% of Gen X employees expressed interest in learning AI. Even among Baby Boomers, generally nearing retirement, there is a strong inclination towards AI upskilling, with 90% indicating they would enroll in an AI course if it were available. This data suggests a widespread recognition of the importance of AI in the future of work across all age groups.
