Tamil Nadu govt inks 16 MoUs worth Rs 5,137 crore

These projects will create job opportunities for 6,555 people

The Tamil Nadu government has inked 16 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with an aggregate investment of Rs 5,137 crore. These projects will create job opportunities for 6,555 people.

Adani Enterprises inked MoU to set up an information data centre at Chengalpattu district, Siruseri, with an investment of Rs 2,300 crore. The project will provide employment to about 1,000 persons.

Super Auto Forge has entered a pact worth Rs 500 crore, to launch a project to manufacture forged steel and aluminum parts in Chipkot Vallam-North Industrial Park, Kanchipuram District. This will create around 800 new jobs.

ATC Tires entered MoU for a technology enhancement project at Tirunelveli-Chipkot Gangaikondan Industrial Park at a cost of Rs 250 crore, creating employment to about 400 persons.

Apart from this, US-based Visteon signed MoU for Rs 100 crore to increase production capacity of motor vehicle spare parts in Maraimalai, Chengalpattu District. Princeton Digital Group has inked a deal for Rs 750 crore, while BPL-FTA Enterprises committed an investment of Rs 500 crore.

Airflow Equipments, a supplier of equipment and products to transportation industries will be investing Rs 320 crore at Kancheepuram, while ATG, a fully-owned subsidiary of The Yokohama Rubber Company, Japan, will be investing Rs 250 crore at Gangaikondan, Tirunelveli.

Srivaru Motors inked MoU for Rs 150 crore for e-Bike manufacturing project, creating employment for about 2,000 people.

The other MoUs inked include Top Anil Marketing worth Rs 100 crore; Corestack worth Rs 35 crore and Swirepay worth Rs 23 crore.  The state government also inked MoU with Radus Digital worth Rs 21 crore; bitWise Academy worth Rs 21 crore; Plethy worth Rs 22 crore; Tier 1 Network Solutions worth Rs 25 crore and ContiNube worth Rs 20 crore.

There are seven MoUs inked in technology space, of these, six will come up in Chennai and one in Coimbatore.

The state government had earlier inked eight MoUs worth Rs 10,399 crore that will create employment opportunities for over 13,507 people.
