Borri, Unitek JV to set up plant

European power equipment maker Borri and Kerala-based Unitek Power Solutions are jointly setting up a Rs30 crore manufacturing plant in Ernakulam. The end products will cater to Indian and overseas markets.

This is for the first project that Borri is partnering for within the country. The new unit is expected to be completed in a year’s time.

Borri plans to recruit Indian engineers who would be trained in Italy. Borri will take a 10% stake in Unitek and the modalities are being worked out.
