Aus firm to invest in infrastructure India

Australian private equity firm Babcock and Brown Infrastructure has earmarked an emerging markets fund of $400 million (Rs196 crore), slated to go up to $1 billion (Rs491 crore), for investment purposes in China and India alone.

The company, along with Hyderabad-based developer Nagarjuna Construction Co. Ltd., has bid for 14 highway projects alone and is exploring possibilities to invest in power, ports and airports.
