APIL to commission 600MW thermal plant by Jan 2013
Power generation company, Avantha Power and Infrastructure Limited (APIL) said that it would commission its first unit of 600 MW of power plant by January 2013.
"Out of 2,460 MW of thermal power plants under implementation, the first unit of 600 MW would be commissioned by January 2013," APIL Chairman Sudhir Trehan said.
The company is setting up thermal power plants in Raigarh district of Chattishgarh and Seoni in Madhya Pradesh. "While, the first unit of thermal power plant in Seoni in Madhya Pradesh will be commissioned by April 2013. Three of our plants will be of 600 MW each, while one will be of 660 MW," Trehan said.
The company has plans to set up wind and solar power plants in Gujarat as well. Meanwhile, the company has postponed its plan to come out with an Initial Public Offering (IPO) at least by nine months or so.
"We will do the IPO in minimum nine months or so, because this is not the right time," Trehan said. The company will have a total installed capacity of over 3,900 MW, once all its projects get commercially operational.
